Checkout & Signup Configuration

Variants, theming, module behavior, rule lists and previewing.

Configuring your checkout and signup experience

The Configuration section of the Merchant Portal is where you control how your checkout and signup pages look, how their modules behave, your business rule lists, and where you can preview the result before it goes live.

Variants: your checkout and signup setups

A variant is a saved configuration of a Briqpay product, either a Checkout (payment) variant or a Signup variant. You can create additional variants if you want to try out different designs or payment mixes, for example to A/B test a change.

  1. Go to Configuration > Variants.
  2. Along the top you will see tabs for your existing Payments and Signup variants. Click + to create a new one.
  3. Select a variant to open its settings. Each variant has:
    • A Variant type (Checkout or Signup) and a unique Variant ID, shown at the top.
    • A Variant name field, which you can update at any time.
    • A Create test session button, useful for quickly generating a test session using this variant's settings.

Theme

The Theme panel lets you override Briqpay's default visual design so the checkout matches your brand:

  • Primary colors: your main brand color and the shades generated from it, used for call to action buttons and accents.
  • Neutral colors: a grayscale palette used for text and backgrounds; pick a color close to black for the darkest shade.
  • Text: choose any font available on Google Fonts, plus header size, text size, input corner radius, and whether button text is uppercase.
  • Modules: background color, border color and border radius used across the checkout's modules (the boxes that make up the page).
  • Other: primary button corner radius, page background color, maximum content width, and whether iframe padding is removed.

Changes are applied to new sessions as soon as you save, so review them with Configuration > Preview before relying on them for real customers.

Rule lists

Configuration > Rule Lists lets you maintain lists of values, for example company registration numbers, that should always be allowed or always be rejected for a particular payment method or rule.

  1. Go to Configuration > Rule Lists.
  2. Click Create list to start a new list, and give it a name.
  3. Add one value per row, or as a comma separated list, depending on the list type.

A rule list only takes effect once it is connected to a rule inside Briqpay's rule engine. Since this step currently requires Briqpay's assistance, contact your Briqpay contact once your list is ready so it can be wired up to the relevant payment method or business rule.

Preview

Use Configuration > Preview to generate a real Briqpay session with your current configuration and see exactly what your customers will see, without needing to embed anything on your own site first.

  1. Go to Configuration > Preview.
  2. Choose the Payment tab.
  3. Fill in the customer type, language, country, currency and an order amount (for Payment previews), and optionally a billing and shipping country.
  4. Click Create session to render the module directly on the page, exactly as a customer would experience it with your current theme, module configuration, and payment method display settings.

Use Preview every time you make a meaningful change to your theme, module configuration, or payment method display settings, so you can catch issues before customers do.
